Balloon Payment / Residual Value.

A balloon payment allows a purchaser the ability to set aside a certain percentage of the finance amount, meaning the monthly repayments are calculated on a lower amount which in turn makes the monthly repayments smaller. This lump sum is then payable at the end of the finance term, and can be settled as a full amount, or in some cases refinanced over a number of months.
